Special education Team
SPEcial education coordinator
Milagros is the Special Education Coordinator at Connect! She enjoys being able to get to know her students and their families and having the opportunity to build unique relationships with each of them as we learn from, about, and with each other.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, camping, going on walks, and (sometimes) cooking.
SPEcial education Teacher
Sara Lopez is a Bay Area native who joined the Connect Community this year. She recently completed her masters and credential in special education through Western Governors University. Sara also completed her masters in counselors education and multiple subjects teaching credential at San Jose State University and her bachelors in liberal studies at Notre Dame de Namur University. Go Owls, Go Spartans, and Go Argonauts!!
Sara is married to an amazing artist named Oscar Lopez, who is also an art teacher to high school and college students. Sara has two sisters, a brother, nieces and nephews and family all over the USA, in Mexico, in Ireland, and even extended family in India!
Sara is an animal fanatic, to put it mildly. Currently she is owned by a sassy green parrot named Sunny, two spoiled horses named Janie and Ramona, and a tank full of tropical fish. She would very much like to add to her menagerie but her family says she has to wait until she lives in a bigger house. No matter how creepy the crawly she is a fan (Sara’s mom used to keep bearded dragons and tarantulas!), so if you see a spider don’t squish it! Call Sara and she will gladly remove the critter from your area safely.
