Who We Are
Connect Community Charter School is a Redwood City elementary school and middle school started in 2013 by a group of local parents and educators to provide an inclusive learning community dedicated to empowering students through a rigorous and relevant curriculum that prepares them for future success. We prioritize small classrooms, bilingual support, academic enrichment, and social-emotional learning to ensure all students, especially English learners, thrive.
Connect's small community allows all students to be seen and recognized for their strengths as well as supported in their growth. We are dedicated to fostering curiosity, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging, preparing students for success in school and beyond.

What We Provide at Connect
A Safe and Caring Community
Connect Community Charter School fosters a deeply caring community where students, families, and staff feel supported and connected. Through small elementary and middle schools, Connect prioritizes strong relationships, open communication, and a welcoming environment for all. This commitment is reflected in our impressive 90% staff retention rate, demonstrating that our educators feel valued, respected, and committed to our shared mission. Together, we create a nurturing school culture where every child is known, challenged, and celebrated.
Special Education
Families searching for elementary schools or middle schools with strong Special Education programs will find that Connect offers a full-inclusion model. Students with an IEP are welcome, and we provide specialized instruction and coordinated services tailored to each learner’s needs. We work closely with families to ensure meaningful progress and success.
Academic Rigor and Literacy Support
At Connect, elementary and middle school teachers implement the Common Core State Standards through a variety of approaches, from creative hands-on experiences to more traditional lecture formats. We focus on giving students a variety of ways to learn grade level material and many options for showing their learning. Connect also has a literacy specialist who trains teachers and staff members on the most current Science of Reading methods to ensure that our students are learning to read and write proficiently. Students in both elementary school and middle school who need extra help also have many opportunities to receive small group or one-on-one instruction.
Here are some resources related to Literacy and Dyslexia if you would like to learn more about those subjects.
Mental Health and Wellness:
At Connect Community Charter School, our elementary and middle schools prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of students by providing comprehensive support tailored to their needs. As part of our commitment to whole-child development, we offer strong student counseling services and school-based therapy within a comprehensive system of care. With a full-time counselor and a full-time school-based therapist, our schools provide individual counseling, group counseling, and coordinated mental health support in elementary schools and middle schools.
We also implement research-based social-emotional learning programs and mindfulness practices to help students navigate challenges and build healthy coping skills. In response to the growing youth mental health crisis, we are committed to fostering resilience and ensuring every child has access to high-quality student counseling services and school-based therapy so they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Before and After School Care
Thanks to generous state grants to support extended learning in schools, we are able to offer morning and after school care at no cost to our families for students in elementary and middle school. Our program opens at 7:30AM and closes at 6PM. Snack is provided at no cost in the afternoons under the Federal CACFP program. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
In the words of a former Connect student...
"I really liked Connect because it got me prepared for high school...I feel a lot more confident about high school. I liked the teachers, staff, and the overall community. They’ll be supportive and, if you have questions, they are there to answer. There’s always someone you could lean on."
